The Constance Sconce is a small brass wall sconce: two raw brass cones meet at a slim center collar and point in opposite directions, so it reads like an hourglass on the wall. A layered backplate puts a ring of black or white behind the brass, and the collar has the same accent. It's a simple mid century modern shape that still holds its own on a busy wallpapered wall or a bold tile.

It casts light both up and down, which gives a soft wash on the wall above and below. That makes it good accent lighting anywhere you want a little glow. Hang one beside a bathroom mirror as a vanity light, or a pair on either side of a powder room mirror. Put them by a bed, in a hallway, or flanking a banquette or a dining nook. It's compact, so it fits narrow walls and tight spots between mirrors and windows where a bigger fixture would crowd the space.

The raw brass is unlacquered, so it will darken to a warm patina over time. If you'd rather keep it bright, polish it now and then.
