Double Loa Sconce with Steel Shades

The Double Loa Sconce pairs two rounded, spun-steel shades with a clean linear armature for a look that feels both sculptural and architectural. Its balanced geometry and oversized spherical forms give it a subtle mid-century influence, while the mix of raw steel with brass or chrome keeps the fixture feeling modern, graphic, and a little industrial.  This is the two-light version of our original Loa Sconce.

What is the Raw Steel Finish?

The spherical shades are made from raw, non-stainless steel and finished with a transparent powdercoat that seals and protects the metal while allowing the natural surface of the steel to remain visible. Unlike painted or powder-coated finishes, the steel shade showcases natural variation, subtle tonal shifts, and the character of the raw material itself, giving each fixture a slightly unique look.  Each shade will have natural variations that may include darker or lighter areas, mill marks, small scratches, reddish-brown oxidation or discoloration, and other surface inclusions beneath the clear finish. These characteristics are inherent to raw steel and are not considered finish defects. The shades are also formed by metal spinning, a process that can leave visible concentric rings, lines, or subtle variations across the surface. These forming marks are an expected part of how the shade is manufactured.

The clear powdercoat does not make the steel resemble stainless steel, chrome, or a uniformly painted metallic finish. Rather, it preserves the appearance and variation of the raw material while protecting the finished shade from continued exposure and corrosion.

Because of these natural material and manufacturing variations, no two raw-steel shades will look exactly alike. If you are looking for a perfectly smooth, consistently colored, stainless-steel-like surface, we recommend selecting one of our opaque powdercoated finishes instead.

• The light comes with all mounting hardware.  It can be mounted into a preexisting junction box. 
• Max wattage per bulb is 60W.  Bulbs are not included.
